Maine veterans and military service members have delivered a
letter to Senator Susan Collins and Senator Angus King calling on them to honor America’s promise to
our wartime allies by immediately cosponsoring the Afghan Adjustment Act
(AAA). The time is critical for this legislation as the new year
approaches.
The Afghan Adjustment Act supports those who were evacuated to the
U.S. from Afghanistan and provides a pathway to permanent resident
status. This is a veterans' issue and a national security issue.
The AAA is endorsed by every major Veterans'
organization in the United States including the American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
(IAVA), and Student Veterans of America.
